Dr. Lisa A. Williams has more than twenty years of experience as a licensed acupuncturist and physical therapist. She holds a Master's degree in acupuncture from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, a degree in physical therapy from Russell Sage College, and a doctorate of physical therapy from the College of Saint Scholastica.

Lisa has extensive experience in sports medicine, having worked with the New York Rangers (and even held the Stanley Cup in thanks for her services), and provided physical therapy to their players during their championship season. She has also worked with several NFL players during their rehabilitation. She is experienced in the Maitland-Australian Concept, which is recognized worldwide as an efficient, safe and gentle way to alleviate pain, restore movement, and maximize function in orthopedic patients. She also has significant experience in manual, trigger point and myofascial release therapies. Lisa is certified in Schroth 3-D scoliosis therapy according to the principles of Katharina Schroth for the treatment of scoliosis. She has specialized experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities at organizations including United Cerebral Palsy and YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities.

The roots of Lisa’s approach to wellness and pain management lie in her own personal battle with ulcerative colitis. Unable to manage her illness through conventional medicine, Lisa developed the integrative approach used at Gentle Touch Acupuncture to manage her own disease. She has successfully managed her disease for over a decade using the methods that we employ at Gentle Touch. Her desire to help others achieve their own personal goals for wellness and health using the multi-pronged approach that was so successful for her led her to create her own practice.

Lisa is the proud owner/operator of Gentle Touch Acupuncture and Gentle Touch Physical Therapy. She looks forward to welcoming you to her practice.
